Loreto Leone Obituary, Death – Watertown Family Man Dies at 95

Loreto Leone passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, just one day before his 96th birthday.

His death has brought sadness to his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. Loreto will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and a man whose greatest happiness came from spending time with the people he loved.

Remembering Loreto Leone

Loreto shared more than 65 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dora (Cedrone) Leone.

He was the loving father of Robert Leone and his wife Deborah, and Liliana Trainor and her husband Patrick.

Loreto was also a proud and cherished “Nonno” to his grandchildren Natalie, Samantha, and Melissa Leone; Daniel Trainor and his wife Emily; and Jeffrey and Julia Trainor.

He is survived by his siblings Josephine Leone and Nazareno “Ned” Leone and his wife Cindy. He was predeceased by his brother Carmen Leone and his wife Lucy. Loreto also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A Life Centered Around Family

Loreto was a devoted member of the Watertown Sons of Italy, where he was known as an enthusiastic bocce player.

Outside of the organization, he enjoyed making wine and gardening. However, the greatest part of his life was the time he spent with his family.

Those closest to him will remember his warm hugs, big smile, and loving personality. His grandchildren held a particularly special place in his heart, and his family remained his greatest source of joy throughout his life.

Loreto Leone Funeral Arrangements

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Loreto’s life on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

A visitation hour was held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady’s Comforter of the Afflicted Parish, located at 920 Trapelo Road in Waltham.

A Funeral Mass followed at 10:00 a.m., with entombment afterward at Mount Auburn Cemetery.

Loreto Leone leaves behind a lifetime of memories for his family and loved ones. His kindness, warmth, and deep love for his family will continue to be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
